The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Última tempts the imagination with a dark array of cracked chalk, dusty black currants and rubbed sage. This is pure silk on the palate-lifted and refined, with juicy acidity to balance its core of ripe wild berry fruits. The Última leaves the senses stained in primary concentration, finishing long and floral, with a peppery tinge and a balanced tug of grippy tannins. This is the most balanced example from 2020 in the Alleromb portfolio and is worth seeking out. Drink 2025-2032- Vinous

  • The Wine: 2019 is the inaugural vintage of our Última Cabernet Sauvignon. Última meaning “the last or the final” is the pinnacle of our portfolio while being our most structured and age worthy wine. During blending, Última is selected from the best Cabernet Sauvignon of the vintage and aged exclusively in our proprietary Lumen barrels. A classic Cabernet with floral undertones, lithe tannins and a long cocoa powder dusted finish.

  • In 2020 we saw normal budbreak and moderate early season growing conditions and overall was a warm to hot vintage. The season was marred by wildfires and potential smoke taint issues depending on the location of your vineyard sources in relation to the fires. Despite the fires the overall conditions brought phenomenal growing conditions, with some of the highest phenolic material I’ve seen in my career. The wines are plush, with enough structure to age and whites like Sauvignon Blanc are absolutely stunning. The fall unfortunately brought several freeze events during the third and fourth week of October that ended the season for the entire state.
