The Wine: 2019 is the inaugural vintage of our Última Cabernet Sauvignon. Última meaning “the last or the final” is the pinnacle of our portfolio while being our most structured and age worthy wine. During blending, Última is selected from the best Cabernet Sauvignon of the vintage and aged exclusively in our proprietary Lumen barrels. A classic Cabernet with floral undertones, lithe tannins and a long cocoa powder dusted finish.

The Vintage: The 2019 vintage started out cool with heavy snowpack from February and March that kept ground temps cool and the soils saturated with moisture. Budbreak was slightly later than normal and moisture in the soils made nutrients readily available for the spring and early summer. Big canopy growth and a large fruit set led to a substantial harvest and although there was an early freeze event, much of our production had already been harvested or was at elevations that weren’t affected.
