2022 Cabernet Franc
Intense nose of red and black currants, boysenberry, dried flowers and herbs. Swirling adds blackberry and sage, with a hint of vanilla bean, mocha and sandalwood. The palate is ripe and fleshy, with silky tannins and great fruit sweetness. The finish is long and perfumed with chalky tannins and vibrant acidity.

2022 started relatively cool and late compared to previous years, with more moisture during the spring. That increased moisture helped set an abundant crop and larger than normal canopies to support it. The later part of summer brought increases in temperatures that helped ripen the larger crop being carried, and the fall was clear until the third week of October when we began to see some rain in Walla Walla valley and to a lesser degree in the Columbia basin. The vintage shows very high levels of anthocyanin(color) and great textural depth, which will give us plush, elegant wines with solid age ability.
